Persian Sangak Bread

Sangak means ‘pebble’ in the Persian language. Considered the national bread of Iran, Sangak bread is traditionally baked on a bed of hot pebbles in a tanoor (oven).

The origins of this bread go back to centuries ago when the elite Persians invented it to become the healthy bread of the society’s upper class. It is now considered the national bread of Iran.

Sangak bread is a flatbread made with premium quality wholewheat flour. A simple and healthy recipe makes it easy to digest without losing any flavour.

A great source of fibre and protein, Sangak bread is perfect to be used for breakfast or dinner, paired with butter, jam, white cheese, vegemite, eggs and omelettes.

Persian Lavash Bread

A soft, thin flatbread traditionally baked in a clay oven, Persian Lavash offers a tremendous variety in flavour and texture in Iranian cuisine.

Persian Lavash is a soft, thin flatbread traditionally baked in clay oven.

It is one of the most widely consumed breads in Iran with more than 800 years of history. There is a tremendous variety in flavour and texture of this bread in Iranian cuisine.

We bake our Lavash bread in tunnel ovens applying indirect heat which enhances the softness of our Lavash.

Although Lavash is traditionally a white bread, we add 11% wholewheat flour to make it more nutritious and easier to digest.

Lavash bread is best used as wrap and with breakfast. Enjoy!

Taftoon is a fragrant flatbread made with milk and yoghurt, flavoured with saffron and cardamom. Seeds are sometimes added for decoration.

Similar to Indian Naan, we bake our Taftoon bread using traditional recipes and best quality ingredients.
